Carina Roth, 31 yrs. is the Co-Founder of WisR, a Tech meets HR and Social Impact startup based in Vienna, Austria. GrowWisr.com specializes in bringing "Senior" retired talent together with companies seeking to fill positions with Seniors working past retirement.
Austria and Germany look very different than what we are experiencing here in the USA, but that is what makes this conversation so interesting.
I have yet to find a platform that is anything like WisR has created, although there are a few in the US, none offer the excellent user experience that WisR does.
We are all aware that in the U.S. people are being forced into retirement. They are aging-out of their jobs or career choices, and must find a way to supplement their income or reinvent themselves as entrepreneurs, which is difficult to do at any age. The largest difficulty that people over 50 are experiencing - whether it is age discrimination or their resume's being tossed into a trash can by a BOT - is the length of time they are unemployed and the affect it has on so many areas of their life.
Carina offers insight into the stereotypes Millennials have about people of age and why. It's fascinating as the reason is so apparent yet I think it is overlooked and it will not be fixed until we have a more intergenerational work culture.
Claudia and Carina, the Co-Foundersof WisR are to be admired for their insight and empathy for the growing (aging) population and their commitment to creating a solution that will help all generations to come.
