On May 1, 2023, 30-year-old Jordan Neely, began an aggressive rant on a NYC subway. Soon after, a fellow passenger, 24-year-old US Marine veteran Daniel Penny, intervened, taking Neely to the ground and putting him in a chokehold, ultimately killing him. On May 12th, Penny was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter.
