The film is based on Clive Barker's novella, "Cabal," and stars Craig Sheffer, Anne Bobby, Doug Bradley, and David Cronenberg. The film follows a troubled young man who is drawn to a mythical place called Midian where a variety of friendly monsters are hiding from humanity. Meanwhile, a sadistic serial killer is looking for a patsy. The film is clearly an allegory for marginalized communities, and was completely destroyed by the studios and marketed as a slasher film.
