About this Episode

Today, we have an incredible guest with us, Mark Mangini, a legendary sound designer who has left his mark on some of the most iconic films in Hollywood history. With two Oscars under his belt for his work on Dune and Mad Max Fury Road, and more nominations to his name, Mark's career spans over four decades of creating amazing sonic realities for motion pictures.

His passion for sound also extends into the world of music. A talented guitarist and songwriter, he has composed pieces for several movies. In addition to his work in film, Mark is a frequent lecturer and a strong proponent for sound as an art form. He firmly believes that all organized sound is music, and that his work is just as creative, manipulative, and meticulously designed as that of Beethoven or the Beatles.
