On this episode Ethan sits down with Dorothy Chan a former AIER intern and data analyst at SupChina, a startup dedicated to providing business data on China. After discussing the fallout of the recent Taiwan visit by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Ethan and Dorothy discuss her paper on semiconductor industrial policy. Dorothy’s research at AIER compared the state led efforts of Taiwan and China where she noted the superiority of Taipei’s performance. The conversation then applies the lessons learned from this comparison to recent legislation by Congress to support domestic semiconductor production.
