Soledad Ursúa is a principal at Orinoco Equities. She is a Los Angeles native, and an elected local official of the Venice Neighborhood Council and resident of Venice Beach.
Stewart was formerly managing editor of L.A. Weekly. She’s also served as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, Buzz and New Times Los Angeles, where she focused on urban affairs, education and the environment. A longtime Southern California journalist, Stewart earned a Master’s degree in journalism from Stanford University. Stewart was formerly managing editor of L.A. Weekly. Stewart also wrote a popular column on California politics, wrote freelance articles for various websites and publications, including FairWarning.org, and has edited a variety of books on contemporary topics, including education and politics.

The Center for Demographics and Policy focuses on research and analysis of global, national, and regional demographic trends and explores policies that might produce favorable demographic results over time. It involves Chapman students in demographic research under the supervision of the Center’s senior staff.
