This episode is based on the message entitled “Remember When” from the “First Things First” series at First Avenue Christian Assembly in Chilliwack, British Columbia.

Scripture Referenced: John 1:1; Psalm 119:9-11

-People feel they attend church “regularly” if they come once every three weeks.

-The Bible acts as the “owners manual” for our lives. How we navigate our lives depends on how we know and use the manual.

-By reading the Bible on a regular basis it reveals things we either never knew or perhaps need to be reminded about.

-God uses our regular Bible reading regime to speak to us on a continual basis.

-Jesus was the Word (Jn 1:1) so if we choose to follow “Christ” by default to need to follow the “Word”

-Sin is against God. Whenever we decide to go against the “manual” (God’s Word) we are deciding to no longer follow “Christ” but rather follow “self”.

-The Bible helps us “keep” pure. The Bible does not “make” you pure. The work of “Christ” (Word) is what “makes” us pure… but the work of “us” is what “keeps” us pure and free from sin.

Ask yourself: What is your “Bible Pulse”? How regular is your rhythm?

Ask yourself: What steps can you take right now to commit to make the Bible become more relevant to your “daily” life?
