We discuss the Rwandan and Nazi genocides - the precursors and the circumstances that enabled especially the Germans to become repentant and therefore a moral leader in Europe by accepting over a million refugees. Now Poland is welcoming huge numbers of refugees from Ukraine, and the psychological dissonance is difficult because the EU was punishing Poland for the undemocratic status of its democracy.
