For over 8 years Courtney Burris has been an Assistant District Attorney for the city and county of San Francisco. During that time, she has worked in the sexual assault unit and the domestic violence unit before being promoted to the homicide division. Courtney is a board member of the Bay Area Black Prosecutors Association and the Charles Houston Bar Association. Listen to the interview as she describes how watching legal TV shows, being raised in a household involved in the fight for civil rights and having mentors in the judicial system influenced her decision to become a prosecutor.
