In this episode, Wellington and Savon are joined by special guest Kevin Garcia, a good friend of the show, to discuss Dak Prescott’s recent injury and him being out for multiple weeks because of it. In the second half, they review Above the Rim, the 1994 sports drama film co-written and directed by Jeff Pollack in his directorial debut. Starring Tupac Shakur, Duane Martin, Marlon Wayans and Leon Robinson, they dive into how this film contained a memorable Tupac performance and also was not a typical sports movie but highlighted talent being corrupted by the street game. Finally, they discuss the quality level of basketball that was played, Birdie’s menacing character and how the realism of this film; is what made it ahead of it’s time and a more relatable 90’s film.
