Yelena Isinbaeva is widely considered the greatest female pole-vaulter of all time. She is the current female world record holder and an Olympic gold medallist in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. She has won numerous world championships, indoor and outdoor. Yelena won the prestigious Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year award in 2007 and 2009. Beyond Athletics, Yelena is a respected leader and has established a charity, Yelena Isinbaeva Foundation, delivering projects for disadvantaged children in Russia through sports related initiatives.
