In this introductory talk, Mrinank will give a brief overview of the arguments for working on the development of safe, aligned artificial general intelligence. He will highlight several pathways for impact in the field: technical research, governance, field-building, and enhancing the productivity of other alignment workers. He'll then discuss the key strengths and critical competancies required for each pathway, and suggest ways you can test your fit for them. This talk will be useful for anyone hoping to contribute to this cause area but doesn't yet know how to.
