Beverly Behan has worked with nearly 200 Boards of Directors in the United States, Canada, and around the world over the past 25 years. Her clients are primarily boards of listed public companies in the S&P1500 but range from F100s to recent IPOs. She is the author of Great Companies Deserve Great Boards, which was named Governance Book of the Year in 2012, and the newly published Board & Director Evaluations (August 2021), Amazon's #1 New Release in the field of Corporate Governance.
Beverly's focus is on creating truly great boards - boards that are a genuine asset to the companies they govern rather than merely compliant with regulatory requirements and best practices. Her clients are generally Board Chairs, Lead Directors, and CEOs that want to take their board to the top of its game - and keep it there.
Beverly's recent books include: Becoming a Boardroom Star and New CEOs and Boards: How to Build a Great Board Relationship and a Great Board. Her classic best-seller, Great Companies Deserve Great Boards, has also been re-released. She recently created several online workshops now available worldwide: Becoming a Boardroom Star, Innovations in Board-Building, and CEO Succession Planning.
Beverly is a frequent speaker at board conferences and private board workshops and is often quoted on board issues in major business publications including Corporate Board Member, BusinessWeek, the Wall Street Journal, and others. She is a frequent contributor of thought-leadership in the area of board effectiveness and CEO succession planning. She can be reached through her website: www.boardadvisor.net.
