Kris & David are back for another episode of BTS, as we go back to the week-plus that was August 2-9, 1989.

  • We talk about Dave Meltzer attending a WWF TV Taping in Oakland with a full rundown of a wild night outside the ring, as a pair of fans decided to create quite a scene with a pro-WCW banner. We also talk about all of the other news of the week including the final Bobby Heenan Show, which was a hoot in more ways than one.
  • Then we go international, talking about Giant Baba's issues with Weekly Gong Magazine, the shoot Russians all over New Japan cards, Carlos Colon returning from injury, and much more from around the world.
  • Next, we go to the U.S. scene, where we talk about the Rock & Roll Express reuniting in Memphis, Ronnie P. Gossett & The Master of Pain vowing to run Dutch Mantell out of the CWA, Eric Embry ending World Class Championship Wrestling, and much more.
  • We then close out with the NWA, as Ric Flair has become the chairman of the booking committee, Ricky Steamboat leaves the NWA amidst a contract dispute, Keith Mitchell is taking over as head of production, a TV taping in New Orleans gets wild, Center Stage goes nuts for babyface Ric Flair, and lots more.

This was an extremely fun show, so LISTEN NOW!!!!!!
