Dr. Jim Day discusses his book, _Diamonds in the Rough: A History of Alabama's Cahaba Coal Fields_, published by University of Alabama Press in 2013. Day won the Alabama Historical Association's 2014 Clinton Jackson Coley Award for best local history published in the previous two years.
