For Christians, spiritual growth depends on a healthy diet that includes both the milk and meat of God’s Word. But before we can savor large portions of sound doctrine, we need to be able to digest the basics of biblical truth. Whether you are a pastor, Sunday school teacher, or parent, helping others enjoy the “solid food” of Scripture is one of the most important components of discipleship. In 2016, Fr. Robbie and his daughter Ella started saying prayers and reciting the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles Creed, and other parts of the liturgy on drives around town and on the way to school. Eventually, this became Car Ride Catechesis and grew into this podcast. We’ll keep it short for that quick drive. Occasionally, we will have a longer and more in-depth episode with a special guest. We hope you’ll join us on your way to and fro, around town, or on your way to school.

In a tradition that dates back to the first centuries of Christianity, many newly initiated Christians were prepared for lives of faith through a formation with spiritual, liturgical, and communitarian dimensions. We're taking a deeper dive into the culture we live in. We'll need three things: (1) An understanding of the culture we find ourselves in. (2) A sharp analysis of the cracks in the smooth, seemingly solid narrative that our culture tells us about what it means to live a good life. (3) A new imagination of what it looks like for the gospel of Christ to open up and thrive from within the cracks of our culture. This podcast comes from clergy and laypeople at Church of the Atonement in Buffalo, ...
